Tyra the Water Dragon

This is Kora's dragon, Tyra. She (the dragon) is an orphan, and was given to Kora as one of three eggs that she is supposed to take care of. This dragon organization that Kora received the eggs from miscalculated the times that they were supposed to hatch, and they hatched early. I mean, really early; only a few months in since she had them! (Kora was ticked off.)

AHEM. The scan of this sketch had been sitting in my computer for months. I finally figured out a way to color it without having to ink the stupid thing first. I. DESPISE. INKING.
Having borrowed a book called "The Dracopedia" (I got the Kindle Fire for Christmas! Woohoo!), I figured out how to under paint it. I went into gimp and made one layer on top of the original, and turned on that layer, multiply. It allowed me to--well--under paint it.
I did all the color layers and shading on multiply. Then, I experimented with it and made a background layer underneath the original picture. I turned the original picture on value, put a blue background behind it, and voila, you got that picture right there. I like it like that, ya know? This is one of the few pictures that I really do like. (Even if I don't like the shading that well.)
